Classroom and Laboratory Training Combined with Real-World Experience

Located at our campus in the heart of Boston’s Longwood Medical and Academic Area—a global center for health- and life-science research, education, and care—this full-time, four-year program gives you the opportunity to explore many fields and develop your talents. Here, you’ll work alongside experts in advanced laboratories to perfect your skills and techniques while progressively building an academic foundation in the sciences, liberal arts, and medical and molecular biology. You will graduate with the experience—and confidence—to begin your career or advance your education at the graduate level.

Your Four-Year Journey

This program is STEM-designated, qualifying international students for an additional two years of OPT work in the United States.

  • build a broad knowledge base in biology and chemistry with a full year of lab work
  • begin developing analytical and research skills
  • complement your scientific knowledge with the studies in math, sociology, writing

Second-Year Experience

  • continue developing laboratory-based skills in conjunction with studies in molecular biology, medical microbiology, and organic chemistry
  • explore opportunities for research internships in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area

Third-Year Experience

  • gain an understanding of the interpersonal communication skills necessary to succeed as a healthcare professional
  • broaden your scientific expertise in cellular biochemistry and genetics
  • dive deeper into biological science topics that complement your career goals such as genetics, cellular biochemistry, cancer biology, and infectious diseases
  • continue to participate in research opportunities in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area

Fourth-Year Experience

  • hone your ability to communicate about biological sciences with diverse patients and healthcare professionals
  • refine oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting research findings
  • continue with advanced electives in biology to hone your knowledge and skills in medical biology or molecular/cellular biology
