This program is STEM-designated, qualifying international students for an additional two years of OPT work in the United States.
- build a broad knowledge base in biology and chemistry with a full year of lab work
- begin developing analytical and research skills

Second-Year Experience
- continue developing laboratory-based skills in conjunction with studies in molecular biology, medical microbiology, and organic chemistry
- explore opportunities for research internships in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area
Third-Year Experience
- gain an understanding of the interpersonal communication skills necessary to succeed as a healthcare professional
- broaden your scientific expertise in cellular biochemistry and genetics
- dive deeper into biological science topics that complement your career goals such as genetics, cellular biochemistry, cancer biology, and infectious diseases
- continue to participate in research opportunities in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area
Fourth-Year Experience
- hone your ability to communicate about biological sciences with diverse patients and healthcare professionals
