Overview of Federal Work Study

This federally funded program provides part-time employment for students with demonstrated financial need. In order to obatin a work study position, students should review the current listing of available jobs, contact the supervisor to schedule an interview, and fill out and submit all necessary forms.

Please note:
  • Eligibility is determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Students with Federal Work Study (FWS) eligibility are encouraged to use their eligibility in a community service setting.
  • All students with FWS eligibility can obtain information during the first few weeks of school explaining the job application process as a whole and the specific on-campus and community service opportunities available.
  • Students working in a FWS position are paid through a weekly paycheck based on hours actually worked.
  • This funding is not credited to the student’s account.
