The English Language Academy (ELA) at MCPHS University (Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences) provides language skills and personal enrichment to help prepare international students for success not only at MCPHS University, but in the American health care industry as well. This unique program offers health science courses that will assist you with communicating in practical health care settings, networking with clinical practitioners, and interacting with patients.
MCPHS University (Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences) is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the ELA program is encompassed within its institutional accreditation. The ELA is staffed by experienced faculty with master’s degrees in either applied linguistics or TESOL. The curriculum includes core classes that focus on language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking, and grammar) in addition to content knowledge (science, social sciences, literature, art, culture, and history). Medical vocabulary, nursing, pharmacy, math, and other health science courses are also offered, depending on your academic and professional goals. Classes are taught in our state-of-the-art facilities, including new science and computer laboratories at our Worcester campus.
