Prerequisite Course Requirements

  • An earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with an overall cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
  • Completion of the following prerequisites courses:

Two Semesters of Biology Plus 1 lab (required) 7-8
Two Semesters of Chemistry Plus 1 lab (required) 7-8
One Semester of Physics (recommended) 3
One Semester of Biochemistry (required), Two Semesters (recommended) 3-6
Two Semesters of Human Physiology/Pathophysiology (required) 8
One-Two Semesters of Calculus (recommended) 3-6
One Semester of Statistics or Biostatistics (recommended) 3
  • Each prerequisite course must be completed with a grade of C (2.0) or better on a 4.0 scale
  • The overall cumulative GPA of the prerequisite courses must be a B (3.0) or better on a 4.0 scale.
  • All prerequisite courses must be completed at accredited higher education institutions.
  • A minimum TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 213 (computer-based) or 550 (written) for all candidates for whom English is not their primary language.
  • Ability to fulfill the MCPHS School of Pharmacy Technical Standards for Admission, Promotion and Graduation (See the College catalog - PDF above).
  • Patient care experience is strongly recommended but not required.

Applicants may apply to the MANP Program with no more than two outstanding prerequisite requirements. However, all prerequisite requirements need to be completed with a bachelor’s degree confirmed prior to matriculation.
