Introductory Pharmacy Experience Program (IPEP)
The Introductory Pharmacy Experience Program (IPEP) is comprised of part-time rotations that take place during the professional years of the PharmD program.
IPEP is designed to enable students to actively participate in a supervised program of pharmacy practice. Students gain experience by applying basic and pharmaceutical sciences learning to solve practice problems that arise in delivering patient-care services. Under the supervision of College faculty, adjunct faculty, and practice preceptors, the student learns to make decisions based on their professional knowledge and judgment.
IPEP rotationsStudents are placed in rotations in these types of settings:
- Community Pharmacy: a community pharmacy rotation that combines operational, administrative and patient care activities
- Institutional Pharmacy Practice: an institutional rotation that combines operational, administrative and patient care activities
In order to provide a diverse range of learning experiences and ensure availability and quality of rotations sites, a number of required rotations may be scheduled at some distance from campus. Students are responsible for transportation and other travel expenses.
