School of Pharmacy–Boston

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is one of two academic departments that constitute the School of Pharmacy-Boston. Pharmaceutical Sciences encompass those disciplines that constitute the scientific basis of pharmacy, namely medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics and pharmacology & toxicology. For over one hundred years, the Department has conducted research that has advanced the science of pharmacy and contributed to the development of novel pharmaceutical agents.

Along with this strong scientific component, the Department also houses two other sections that are central to pharmacy education and practice. We have Social and Administrative faculty members with research interests in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics; as well as those faculty involved with the regulatory environment and business conditions under which the pharmaceutical industry operates.

This diverse array of expertise represents an unique resource from which our students benefit, not only in the classroom, but in our research laboratories. We invite you to explore the various links on this page to discover what the Department has to offer.
