Human Development

Human Development is a course that covers the psychological stages of life from birth to death. Acceptable courses include Human Growth & Development, Life Span Development, and Development Across the Life Span



Acceptable courses including basic statistics, biostatistics, psychological statistics, economic statistics


Prerequisites (as indicated above) must have been completed at a regionally accredited college or university with a grade of C or better. Math and science courses must be completed no more than 10 years prior to the anticipated date of matriculation to MCPHS.

Application Checklist:

  • Completed Application or NursingCAS Application. Applicants may use either application. The free MCPHS application is preferred as turnaround time for decisions is approximately 2-3 weeks faster than using the CAS application.
  • Official College Transcripts from each institutions attended. For applicants using the MCPHS Application, all official transcripts should be submitted directly to the Admission Office for the campus which you are applying to at its address below. If you're applying through NursingCAS, you must submit official transcripts directly through CAS.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation (professional, professor, or academic advisor). For applicants using the MCPHS Application, letters of recommendation should be submitted directly to the Admission Office for the campus which you are applying to at its address below. If you're applying through NursingCAS, you must submit letters of reference directly through CAS.
  • Official AP or CLEP Scores if applicable (transfer credit granted for AP Scores of 4 or 5 and CLEP Scores of 50 or higher
  • Official transcripts from non-U.S. secondary schools, colleges or universities must be sent to the World Education Services (WES) for a course-by-course evaluation.
  • If English is your second language, you will be required to submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 79 or an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score 6.5.
