Disabilities Services

"Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results." —Anon

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Academic Support Services assists students with physical, psychological and learning disabilities in fulfilling the fundamental requirements of the curriculum by accessing reasonable accommodations that maximize their educational opportunities at the College.

Accessing Services

Students wishing to request accommodations should meet with the coordinator of disabilities services at the beginning of each semester to review documentation and discuss accommodations appropriate to their coursework. The College requires that a copy of a recent assessment by an appropriate service provider, be on file in the office of Academic Support Services. The assessment should include a statement regarding the functional limitations of the disability as well as recommendations for accommodations.
