First Year Seminar

“With the help of first year seminar I was able to recognize some weak points I needed to work on such as test taking skills and time management, and I was able to turn them into my strongest points….”

The Seminar

The transition from high school to college can be one of the most stressful times in a student’s life. Many are moving away from home for the first time. First Year Seminar is designed to help first year students deal with this transition by presenting them with the available resources that will support them in their first year of college (…and beyond). Students are introduced to learning strategies as well as self reflection exercises along with campus resources such as Counseling Services and Student Activities. Resources within the Colleges of the Fenway are also discussed. First Year Seminar provides ample opportunities to begin the process of getting connected to our MCPHS community and strives to make our students’ college experience one that they, hopefully, will look back on with great joy.
