Peer Mentors

"I really enjoyed my class! My Peer Mentor helped me find an Anatomy tutor who was great! I appreciate everything that she has done for me."

Reaching Out

Part of what makes First Year Seminar such an exciting experience is the use of peer mentors. Peer mentors are student leaders who wish to help other students with some of the same transition issues they faced as they entered MCPHS. Peer mentors:

  • Refer students to all the resources that MCPHS, Colleges of the Fenway and Boston have to offer
  • Help incoming freshmen understand their feelings, emotions and experiences as first year students.
  • Connect with students who are in the process of establishing life-long friendships

Peer Mentor Qualifications

  • 2.75 cumulative and professional (where applicable) GPAs
  • Must have completed one full year at MCPHS
  • Must be a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year student at the beginning of the fall semester
  • Able to attend all peer mentor training sessions
  • Available 4 hours per week during the academic year
