MCPHS students must present a participating health insurance card to access these Harvard Vanguard services.

Pre-Approval by Primary Health Care Provider

If a student’s health plan requires pre-approval for a WIT/Harvard Vanguard appointment, the student should contact his/her primary health care provider before the visit. Staff at WIT/Harvard Vanguard will assist students with pre-approval if they have not received it prior to the visit. It is important that families and students discuss whether the student’s health plan requires pre-approval for medical visits at WIT/Harvard Vanguard!

Note: If the student does not have a primary care provider, it is also possible to select one from among the physicians at Harvard Vanguard who are accepting new patients.

Co-Payment

If a student’s health plan requires a co-payment for services, it is important that the student come prepared to make the appropriate co-payment. Harvard Vanguard will follow routine billing procedures with all MCPHS students and their health insurance plans.
