Mission Statement
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) Office of Continuing Education is committed to the provision of high quality educational programs for pharmacists and other health sciences professionals that facilitate the dispersion and adoption of evidence-based advances in pharmaceutical care and medicine.
Purpose
MCPHS has been providing worthwhile pharmacy education to pharmacists for over 30 years. We believe that through education we empower pharmacists and health care professionals to positively impact the delivery of health care, and provide the best possible outcomes for the patients. Our purpose is to identify and fulfill the educational needs of the pharmacist by creating opportunities to obtain new information that will improve performance and increase the quality of patient care.
Accreditation
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
MCPHS offers a wide variety of educational programs that are well balanced and address subject matter pertinent to the most current practice of pharmacy. All CE programs are presented in accordance with the accreditation standards and criteria as outlined by the ACPE.
Programs Offered
The Office of Continuing Education currently offers CE through both live and home study/online programs. Please take a moment to browse through the different programs currently available. The list of programs offered is continually changing.
MCPHS Live CE Programs - A live program involves any CE program that provides direct interaction between speakers and participants. This may include lectures, symposia, live teleconferences, workshops, etc. Participants are required to complete a program evaluation form and signature sheet, and must attend all sessions in order to receive continuing education credit. Statements of Credit are mailed within four to six weeks. Please view our list of live programs currently offered.
MCPHS Home/Online Studies - A home study program involves any CE program that does not provide direct (live) interaction between speakers and participants. This may include journal articles, monographs, online, CDs, audio tapes, etc. Participants are required to complete a program evaluation form and signature sheet and mail or fax it back to MCPHS. Statements of Credit are mailed within four to six weeks; however, online Statements of Credit can be downloaded immediately following successful completion of the program. Conferences - The Reed Conference is an annual CE conference that honors Dr. Howard L. Reed for a lifetime of dedication and service to the College and bears his name in recognition of his role in conceiving the program in 1941. This is New England’s largest annual gathering for the pharmacist community.
