Training
- All faculty and staff will receive a copy of the Emergency Action Plan as part of New Employee Orientation and will be required to sign indicating they have received and read the plan. All employees are responsible for knowing the evacuation routes from their respective building and understanding their responsibilities in the event of an emergency situation. Subsequent training will be provided annually and more often if material changes are made to the plan. Periodic fire drills will be conducted according to Worceser Fore Department and NFPA codes.
- Each Department Head will designate an Evacuation Coordinator (EC). The EC will ensure every staff member is aware of the two evacuation routes for their respective departments. EC will ensure every staff member knows where the pull stations and fire extinguishers are located. EC will train staff members annually on evacuation procedures including the responsibility and procedure of aiding mobility impaired persons in an evacuation
- All Resident Assistants and students will receive training on the evacuation plan every six months (fall and spring semesters). They will be provided with a copy of the Emergency Action Plan and sign a letter indicating that they have read and understand the plan. Students will be given evacuation instructions during orientations and during the first class of each course at the beginning of each semester. The faculty will instruct students on the evacuation routes for their location based on this plan and signs posted throughout the buildings. Fire drills will be conducted according to WFD and NFPA codes.
- All Resident hall students are required to attend a training session provided at the beginning of each school term; fall, spring, and summer. Students will receive information describing evacuation procedures and safe refuges. Students will sign the attendance log indicating they attended the training and received emergency plan information. Attendance logs will be kept on file. Fire drills will be conducted for the residence hall at least two times per year.
