Dedication to Precision in Patient Care

During this four-year program on our Boston campus, you will develop the technical and interpersonal skills to help patients fight cancer with a radiation. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experts during clinical experiences in prestigious area medical facilities. And you will build the expertise to support patients, their families, and other members of their patient-care teams. This well-rounded program gives you the benefit of an immersive education and thoroughly prepares you for your career as a radiation therapist. When you graduate, you’ll be eligible to sit for certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The program begins in the fall.

Your Four-Year Journey

Gain critical knowledge and insights from faculty who are experts in the radiation therapy field as you train using the latest technologies.

First-Year Experience

  • build a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, chemistry, algebra, and trigonometry
  • learn the essentials of expository writing and interpersonal communication for health professionals
  • explore patient and healthcare communities through the study of American culture, public life, and human psychology

Second-Year Experience

  • study basic chemistry, physiology, pathophysiology, physics, and statistics
  • learn medical terminology for radiologic sciences
  • explore the key elements of clinical care including interpersonal communications
  • develop an understanding of radiation protection

Third-Year Experience

  • build a thorough knowledge of healthcare ethics and how to apply clinical thinking in radiation therapy
  • participate in a radiation therapy internship
  • gain insights into critical aspects of radiation therapy such as physics and treatment planning as well as the cancer process and how the disease is treated with radiation
  • work in the lab to develop a deep understanding of radiation therapy procedures

Fourth-Year Experience

  • study physics concepts in radiation therapy
  • prepare for the board examination
  • participate in a radiation therapy internship
  • conduct research in radiologic sciences
