Community Service Programs
Center for Drug Information & Natural Products
The Center provides free, comprehensive, non-biased information to health care professionals and consumers by responding to inquiries concerning drugs and natural products, such as:
- Foreign product identification
- Adverse reactions
- Drug-drug and drug-natural product interactions
- Safety of use during pregnancy and breast feeding
- The therapeutic use of conventional and natural products
Process
Inquiries are received and researched by sixth-year Doctor of Pharmacy students conducting a rotation in drug and natural product information or CDINP faculty. All responses are verified by CDINP faculty, and most inquires can be answered either on the same day or within 24 hours of when they are received. All requests are confidential.
