Library Facilities
The Libraries at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences consist of the main library on the Boston campus and two branch libraries in Worcester and Manchester.
Boston
Newly renovated in 2006, the Henrietta DeBenedictis Library in Boston has expanded the publicly available computers to 49, added a quiet study area and increased overall seating capacity to 158. Quiet study areas feature soft comfortable seats with swing out arms as well as traditional library carrels for quiet, individual work. In addition there are six group study rooms complete with white boards, 27” monitors, computers, and DVD/VHS players. These rooms serve as meeting spots for work on group projects, informal groups and tutoring sessions. The library also houses the main print collections (journals, reserve, reference and circulating books) for the College.
Worcester
The Blais Family Library in Worcester was recently renovated, resulting in a significant increase in the number of computers (27) and the amount of study (38 spaces) area including study carrels, tables/chairs, and soft seating. This branch contains a core collection of pharmacy, nursing, and clinical medicine reference books, and a circulating book collection and selected journal titles. The Blais Family Library contains few print journals, instead utilizing the extensive online collections that are available to the entire MCPHS community.
Manchester
Renovated in the summer of 2007, the Manchester Library contains a mix of study options, including individual study carrels, soft seating, and group study rooms. A large computer area provides remote access to all electronic resources from Boston’s Henrietta DeBenedictis Library. The Manchester Library also contains a core collection of reference books in pharmacy, clinical medicine, and nursing.
