SFX

SFX is coming…

Starting July 1st you will see a new interface for finding ejournals and a new link to ejournals within our databases (e.g., Medline, CINAHL, Academic Index, IPA etc.). SFX is a new system that the library is using to organize and provide access to ejournals.

What's new?

  • A new A-Z journal list (replaces the TDNet interface) - See it today at Find an eJournal
  • A new button (replaces the TOUR button) within databases
  • Print journal titles will be included – no need to go the catalog
  • And a menu of new options!

What are the new Options?

Click a link on the SFX Menu to:

  • Request an interlibrary loan – you just add your name and personal data - the citation will be automatically added to the form!!!
  • Add your citation to RefWorks
  • Search Google Scholar for more information
  • Ask a Librarian a question through chat or email
  • Send feedback if the system is not working correctly.

From now until the end of July, we’ll be experimenting with SFX, so you may run into a few glitches. You’ll also notice that starting this week both the TOUR link and SFX link will be present in the databases (TOUR will become inactive on July 1).

The Interlibrary Loan form is still in the design stage. You may use the form in its present format but expect a more complete form in the future. You can add any special instructions (like when you need the article) in the notes section. Ignore the Borrower ID line which will soon disappear. You may still use the standard ILL forms that are located under Quick Links on the library webpage.

We hope that you will enjoy the new added features!
