Gail Weisberg Forsyth '74 Receives Wilkins Distinguished Alumna Award
The Esther M. Wilkins Distinguished Alumna Award was presented to Gail Weisberg Forsyth '74 by Dr. Esther M. Wilkins on June 5 at the Forsyth Alumna Brunch during the 2011 MCPHS Reunion Weekend. Gail, a resident of North Providence, has been very involved with MCPHS since the Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists became part of the College. Gail was active in the Forsyth Wilkins Dental Hygiene Clinic Campaign, served as president of the Forsyth Alumni Association and was the first non-pharmacist alum to serve as president of the MCPHS Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Gail has experience in the corporate world along with working as a clincial dental hygienist. Currently she is the Executive Director of Project Stretch Dentistry, a non-profit founded in 1988 that brings dental health care to children all around the world. She has volunteered with Project Stretch programs in a variety of places including Mexico and rural Georgia. She also works in the public health sector in Rhode Island providing direct patient care in bursing homes.
