MCPHS Nursing Students Spread Valentine’s Day Cheer at Tatnuck Park

On February 14, ten MCPHS Nursing students spread some Valentine's Day love to residents of Tatnuck Park assisted living in Worcester. The event was a festive affair where residents decorated cookies, made personalized Valentines, and sang several songs. The highlight of the event was when students and residents joined in for a heartfelt rendition of Frankie Valli's Can't Take My Eyes Off You.

The College's Nursing Students Without Borders (NSWB) group began a partnership with the facility in 2010, providing monthly information sessions that provide health education in a fun way. Recent events have included a heart-healthy Thanksgiving cooking class, a morning exercise group, and a holiday celebration where the residents trimmed trees, caroled, and made customized holiday cards.

Although the students admit they won't be winning American Idol anytime soon, they are happy to report they've been asked back to sing Irish songs for St. Patrick's Day.
