President Emeritus Sumner M. Robinson
With great sadness, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences community announces that President Emeritus Sumner M. Robinson passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2007, following an extended illness.
President Robinson had a long and distinguished career at the College, beginning as a student in 1950. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1954, a Master of Science in 1956 and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 1961 – all from MCPHS. He served on the faculty, where he rose to the rank of Dean of the College in 1974. He served as President of St. Louis College of Pharmacy from 1986 to 1993, when he returned to MCPHS to serve as the College’s 4th President. He retired in 1996.
