Rebuilding Together Holds Regional Meeting @ Worcester Campus

On June 30, MCPHS-Worcester was the location of the annual New England regional meeting of Rebuilding Together. The organization’s Worcester affiliate, whose president is MCPHS faculty member Kevin Kearney, hosted the meeting. Representatives from Boston, Providence, Hartford and other cities throughout New England attended the meeting. National President/CEO Gary Officer spoke to the attendees and discussed best practices related to their home revitalization work. In April, nearly 200 volunteers, including 40 faculty, staff and students from MCPHS-Worcester, volunteered with Rebuilding Together Worcester (RTW) to renovate seven homes of elderly low-income residents and a family shelter operated by Friendly House. The organization raised approximately $10,000 to purchase materials for the projects, and volunteers contributed about $30,000 in work hours.
