From November 2-4, the students and staff at MCPHS Manchester were very busy supporting the City of Manchester as it held its First Annual Manchester City Marathon and Sports & Health Expo. As part of the commitment to improve health, wellness and quality of life, APhA students provided information to runners and guests about heartburn awareness as a part of their commitment to the national Heartburn Awareness Month. Physician Assistant students got involved by raffling off a runner's duffle bag that included donated large and small items ranging from a pedometer and MP3 player to energy bars and Gatorade.
The College also sponsored a water station at mile 23 of the race, and members of the MCPHS Manchester community came together on the cold and windy day to provide Gatorade, water, and energy gel to over 700 runners including Ben Nadeau, a Manchester pharmacy student.
