Twenty Four High School Students Complete Creating Futures Program
This fall, 24 African American and Latino students from Boston public high schools participated in a unique and challenging career awareness and college preparation program at MCPHS Boston. Entitled “Creando Futuros/Creating Futures,” the program offers students the opportunity to explore health careers and to discuss them first-hand with MCPHS faculty, staff, alumni and students.
At the conclusion of the 6-week Saturday program, the students presented their individual and small group projects at a day-long conference attended by their parents and siblings. At the December 8 event, students presented research on various health specialties, explained their designs for neighborhood health centers, and investigated family health histories. Students who completed the program received a certificate of achievement from special guest Nina King, a member of the MCPHS Board of Trustees. Mrs. King praised the students for their accomplishments, and encouraged them to continue on their path to a bright future.
