Worcester Campus Holds Annual Poetry Brunch

MCPHS-Worcester hosted a Poetry Brunch in the Student Lounge on Sunday, October 22. The free event is held annually at the Worcester campus and is sponsored by the College’s Medical Humanities Interest Group and the Worcester County Poetry Association. Reading from their poetry were MCPHS-Boston professors: Victoria Longino, a prize-winning published poet who has presented her work in England, Cuba, and the U.S.; Mary Buchinger Bodwell, a published poet, and recipient of the New England Poetry Club’s 2005 Daniel Varoujan Award; and Christine Parkhurst, whose poetry has been published in medical and medical humanities journals, and who used to teach patient communication to medical students. MCPHS student poets Allan-Michael Brown and Juliet Jordan also read from their work.
