On Sunday, May 6, ten members of the MCPHS-Manchester community walked in the Central New Hampshire Heart Walk, raising $830 for the American Heart Association. The team included pharmacy students Heather Bird, Melissa Drye, Gary Gach, and Rich Lufkin, faculty Carroll-Ann Goldsmith, Paul Belliveau (and son), and Alok Sharma, and staff Wayne Hoitt and Josh Aiello. The five-mile scenic walk wound its way through Manchester, ending at the headquarters of the New Hampshire Union Leader. Organizers of the event hoped to raise more than $300,000, and spread information about the dangers of heart disease and the benefits of a health lifestyle.
