Worcester APhA-ASP Holds 6th Annual Health Fair @ Auburn Mall
More than 50 pharmacy and physician assistant studies students and faculty from MCPHS-Worcester held the campus’ 6th annual Health Fair on April 24 at the Auburn Mall. Over the course of the day the students provided hundreds of free glucose and blood pressure screenings to the public. The group also handed out a copious amount of information on smoking cessation, medication safety, nutrition, exercise, and immunizations. The fair was sponsored by the Worcester campus chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) and organized by 1st-year pharmacy students Catherine Lindon and Geralyn Waters. Students from Ro Chi, American Society of Health System Pharmacists, National Community Pharmacists Association, Phi Lambda Sigma and the Christian Student Association were also instrumental in developing patient education materials and performing health screenings.
