Worcester SGA Holds End Of Summer Block Party

To celebrate the end of the summer semester, help reduce the stress before the finals, and provide an opportunity for faculty, staff and students to mingle, the Worcester Student Government Association (SGA) sponsored a block party on Norwich Street on July 18. The block party featured a BBQ spread and music, plus a dunk tank, bungee run, gladiator event, and limbo contest. Faculty, staff and students from all three programs participated in the festivities. Six faculty (Kevin Kearny, Bertram Nicholas, Praveen Mididoddi, Kaelen Dunican, Fae Wooding and Tony Pellegrino) volunteered to endure the dunk tank, while students donated canned goods in return for balls to throw and, of course, a chance to try and dunk the faculty. The collected cans were donated to the Worcester local food pantry. Voter registration forms, information on absentee ballots, and a flyer comparing the candidates’ platforms on health care issues were also handed out at the event.
