May 2020 Graduate Update

Dear May 2020 MCPHS Graduates,

We are writing to provide you with an update regarding the University's plans to celebrate you, our May 2020 Graduates. As you know, COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our ability to operate as usual, including hosting in-person gatherings and events.

Due to restrictions on large gatherings, as advised by government health authorities, and taking into consideration the safety of our students, their families, and MCPHS faculty and staff, we are still unable to host an in-person Commencement ceremony to celebrate your achievements. Like you, we are very disappointed about this. When it is safe to do so, the University will plan in-person celebrations for our graduates. Planning will be done with the help of the Commencement Taskforce whose members include representatives of May 2020 Graduates, faculty and administration.

Planning is moving ahead for Academic Award ceremonies, however. As you know, these ceremonies are hosted by the Academic Schools and typically occur prior to Commencement. Academic Award ceremonies are being planned to take place in a virtual setting and will occur during the Spring 2021 semester. Academic Schools will contact you directly with more information about this in the coming weeks. Students receiving awards will be notified individually by their School or Department and awards will be shipped directly to recipients.

The Commencement Taskforce will continue to meet over the next several months and will provide updates to you as additional information becomes available. Thank you for your continuing patience and understanding.
