Defining Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

As a premier health sciences institution, MCPHS educates students to work within diverse communities with patients of all backgrounds. Our dedication to academic excellence is inseparable from our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. It is our responsibility to prepare our students to recognize social injustices and systemic discrimination, particularly those that adversely impact health outcomes. As part of our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, it is incumbent that we help our students, faculty, and staff be aware of these issues so they might recognize and address personal and organizational biases that could adversely impact the patients in their care and people in their networks. We encourage all members of the MCPHS Community to commit their time and talents to help create a more equitable society.

Inclusion: We are committed to pursuing deliberate efforts to ensure that our campus is a place where differences are welcomed, different perspectives are respectfully heard, and every individual feels a sense of belonging and inclusion and is treated with dignity and respect.
