Congratulations to everyone who will receive a degree at Commencement on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA. For many of you, this culminates a long educational journey. Commencement is an important milestone in your life and we want to provide information to assist you in preparing for this joyful celebration. Frequently Asked Questions


Do I have to RSVP to attend?

Yes, all students, (whether you are planning to attend the ceremony or not), MUST complete the 2018 Commencement Form. The form also asks for the pronunciation of your name so that it may be announced correctly.

For those attending the ceremony, please indicate how many guests you think will attend. If any of your guests require special accommodations, please be sure to include that on the form.

Deadline to complete Commencement 2018 Form is Friday, April 6, 2018

How do I get my cap and gown?

In order to pick-up an ordered cap and gown, graduates must have completed the Graduate Exit Survey (this survey will be sent to all graduates at a later date, prior to Commencement). Caps and Gowns will be available for pick-up the week leading up to Commencement.

How do I get tickets for my guests?

Tickets are not required to attend. Seating at the venue will be first-come, first-served. Students must indicate the number of guests attending on the 2018 Commencement Form.

Where can I park?

Free parking is available at Gillette Stadium. Click Here to view information on accessing the stadium's parking lots and on where to park your vehicle. Please note: Tailgating is not permitted.

When should I arrive?

The parking lot gates will open for all graduates and guests at approximately 7:30 a.m. with the procession starting promptly at 10 a.m. All graduating students must enter at the U-Bid gate of Gillette Stadium. You must report to registration area no later than 8:15 a.m. There will be light refreshment available for graduates in the lineup area.

How long is the ceremony?

The estimated program time is about 2 and a half hours long.

Can I take a video and/or photos at the event?

There is a University photographer who will capture a photo of the graduate with the President. The complimentary photo will be mailed to the graduate shortly after the event. Each graduate will walk across the stage and their image will appear on the jumbo screen. For safety reasons, guests are not permitted on the field. You may use your own camera and/or video recorder in the venue.

What are the arrangements for guests with mobility needs?

Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis with a seating area for guests with mobility needs. There are designated areas at the stadium which are reserved for those with mobility needs. Wheelchairs are allowed in Gillette Stadium; however, wheelchairs are not provided at the venue. In order to accommodate our guests who will be utilizing the designated areas, we do ask that only 1 additional guest be seated with our guests.

Are refreshments available?

Concession areas will be open and accept cash and credit card payment.

Is this an indoor event?

No, the event is outdoors regardless of weather conditions. In the event of rain, small umbrellas are allowed. We will have ponchos available for students and guests if needed.

Where can I store my personal belongings during the event?

There is no storage available at the venue for student belongings. Please leave all belongings with a family member. All guests will be subject to standard bag check upon entering Gillette Stadium.

I am coming in from out of town. What hotel accommodations are available?

There are a number of hotels located in and around the Foxborough area, as well as in the Boston area. For your convenience, MCPHS University has negotiated special rates at select hotels. Rooms are available for individual booking on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be aware that hotels may have different cut-off dates for reserving rooms.

I have family traveling from overseas. Can MCPHS University provide a letter for them for visa purposes?

When do I receive my diploma?

All graduates will receive a diploma cover when they cross the stage. Diplomas will be distributed at the ceremony to all students expected to graduate in May 2018 who have completed University graduation requirements. Students who are expected to graduate in September 2018 will have their diplomas mailed.
