As we look forward to celebrating the 200th anniversary of our founding, we reaffirm our commitment to make Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) a premier global institution for health profession education.

MCPHS prepares graduates to advance health worldwide through excellence, innovation, and collaboration in teaching, practice, scholarship, and research and to transform the communities that they will serve.

Priority 1: Foster student success

  • Use multi-faceted methodologies of teaching and learning to support students’ needs.
  • Deliver comprehensive student support that recognizes and meets the wide variety/range of student needs for personal and professional success.
  • Utilize thoughtfully designed assessment practices to inform and continually improve student outcomes.
  • Innovate programs and curricula to both respond to, and influence, the global health care environment.

Priority 2: Enrich the student experience

  • Develop and expand social infrastructure that fosters a sense of belonging and connects students to the wider MCPHS network/community.
  • Establish a culture of engagement with students, faculty, staff, and alumni that informs curricular and co-curricular programming.
  • Organize student service offices and utilize technology to provide a seamless student experience.
  • Be transparent with students to ensure that we deliver what we promise.
  • Engage alumni in opportunities to network with students and provide mentoring opportunities.

Priority 3: Promote faculty and staff success

  • Develop effective onboarding processes for all faculty and staff across the campuses.
  • Provide tools and resources for professional development to help faculty and staff improve educational effectiveness, maintain skills, and develop state of the art capabilities.
  • Connect faculty, staff, and alumni across all campuses to collaborate and share expertise and experiences, thus strengthening the University Community.
  • Promote work-life balance so that faculty and staff can perform at their best in the workplace.

Priority 4: Strengthen infrastructure and technology

  • Conduct proactive and continuous assessment of technology, current and future facilities, physical infrastructure, and human and organizational needs to support educational effectiveness.

With a tradition of excellence in health care and science education since its founding in 1823, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) offers its students degree programs and co-curricular activities that are focused on knowledge and skills development. The University’s mission statement affirms its primary goal of preparing students for successful careers in health care through excellence in teaching, scholarship, professional service and community engagement.

MCPHS prepares its graduates to:

  • Possess interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse population including patients, clients, customers, and colleagues.
