New Leader at Integration Center with MCPHS Partnership

  • Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS), partnered with other leading healthcare and educational institutions in Massachusetts to support the CIPCOH, is excited to have Dr. Hugh Silk join the CIPCOH team.

    Hugh Silk, MD, MPH is now serving as Co-Principle Investigator and Site PI on the University of Massachusetts CIPCOH team to improve integration of oral health care with primary medical health care. Silk, a longtime advocate for oral and medical integration, is working with the CIPCOH team to evaluate the success of integration efforts at the academic and clinical levels and aims to promote the type of quality primary care enhancements that address oral health needs.

    The CIPCOH serves as a national resource for systems-level research on oral health integration into primary care training and contributes to the improvement of primary care practice and patient outcomes through research, education, integration and training efforts. The center is a joint endeavor of the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (UMMFMCH) and Harvard University Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine (HMS/HSDM), and the HMS Center for Primary Care (CPC), in partnership with MCPHS University (formerly the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences), and State University of New York at Stony Brook.
