Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts announced earlier this month that they will begin to offer coverage for acupuncture services in January 2020. With this announcement, BCBS leads the way for acupuncture to become a more mainstream and non-opioid treatment option for pain and other conditions.

On Wednesday, April 3, the acupuncture and diagnostic medical sonography (DMS) programs held an inaugural interprofessional education (IPE) event designed to create interdisciplinary relationships amongst students.

The first annual University of Massachusetts (UMass) Medical School/MCPHS University Interprofessional Symposium and Networking Event was held on May 15 on the UMass Medical School campus in Worcester.

The first Interprofessional Research Day Showcase was held on April 8 at the MCPHS University Lincoln Ballroom on the Worcester campus. The Showcase highlighted the research from various programs across campus.
