Graduate Certificate, Nurse Educator

As a nurse educator, your clinical expertise with teaching and learning skills can prepare the next generation of nurses. This program builds on your master's degree in nursing so you can advance your career with advanced nurse educator credentials.

This flexible, three-course program is offered entirely online, giving you the flexibility to continue to work. You’ll have the opportunity to learn curriculum design and development, teaching methodologies, needs assessment and learner-centered theories and methods. When you graduate, you’ll be eligible to sit for the National League of Nursing (NLN) Nurse Educator Certification Exam to become a certified nurse educator and to advance your fulfilling career.

Graduates of this program may apply earned credits toward our Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse Educator program, also offered online.

For admission to the program, an applicant must have:

  • A master's degree in nursing from an accredited university or college
  • A valid nursing license in the United States
  • One year of full-time RN employment prior to the program start date

*Please note that priority consideration is given to those applicants who have achieved an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher in their professional nursing coursework.

Application Requirements

For consideration for admission, the following application materials must be submitted:

  • Completed MCPHS Application
  • Official college transcripts from every college attended
  • 1 professional letter of recommendation
  • Photocopy of current RN license
  • Resume (may be included within application or as a separate document)
