Education Day and International Transition Workshop

Education Day

All freshman students are required to attend Education Day on Thursday, August 31. During Education Day, you will attend sessions to further your transition as an MCPHS University student in Boston. We'll cover a variety of topics, including how to get involved on campus, safety in the city, and University policies. Students who are taking Chem 131 must also attend a mandatory meeting with Professor Garafalo.

  • Students who are taking Chemistry 131 should report to the Rombult Atrium at 7:45 a.m.
  • Students who are not taking Chemistry 131 should report to the Rombult Atrium by 8:50 a.m.

Please use the 101 Palace Road entrance. A light breakfast and lunch will be served. The schedule will conclude around 12:45 p.m.

International Transition Workshop

All international students (freshman, transfer, and graduate students), must attend the International Transition Workshop on Thursday, August 31. During the workshop we will go over the rules and responsibilities for students in F-1 status, including issues regarding enrollment, international travel during your program of study, and work authorization. You will also have the opportunity to submit your SEVIS registration paperwork.

The workshop will begin with check-in in the Griffin Lobby at 12:30 p.m. Students attending Education Day in the morning will be escorted from the main building to the Griffin Building. Graduate students attending Orientation that day will join the International Transition Workshop when Orientation concludes at 4:15 p.m.
