MCPHS Online Orientation

Welcome to the MCPHS Online community! As you prepare to begin your courses, you will experience orientation events designed to help you successfully transition to online learning and the MCPHS Online experience.

Orientation is term- and program-specific, so be sure to find your program on the list below for specialized instruction about expectations.

MCPHS Online 101

All online students at MCPHS will automatically be registered for a MCPHS Online 101 prior to the start of classes. MCPHS Online 101 is an online orientation that is deigned to help students familiarize themselves with MCPHS Online. You will learn how to use our online learning environment, learn more about University services and technology requirements, and learn tips for first-time online students. Completion of this online orientation is strongly encouraged.

You will be contacted if your program requires you to complete additional online orientation modules prior to the start of classes.

On-Campus Orientation (Select Programs)

In addition to MCPHS Online 101, our online orientation, students in select MCPHS Online programs are required to attend an on-campus orientation.

On-campus Orientation is held on our Boston or Worcester, MA campuses and is designed to help you successfully transition to academic life. During the event, you will meet your future classmates and professors and learn more about program expectations from your program director.

Please note: Parking is not available on our Boston campus, and the use of public transportation is highly recommended. Here are some helpful links as you plan your travel:

  • MBTA: information on public transportation; map out your trip via train or bus
  • MBTA Trip Planner: map out your trip from any start point to 179 Longwood Avenue, 02115
  • Parking Information: MBTA lots; check to see which lots offer overnight or day parking only

Start of Classes

The first day of classes for the fall 2017 semester will be Tuesday, September 5, 2017. Please note that you cannot access your coursework on Blackboard before this date. Similar to a face-to-face class, you cannot access the syllabus or assignments before the first day of classes. Your schedule and book lists will be available on WebAdvisor a few weeks prior to the start of the semester.
