Dear Students,

The University recognizes that as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, your education was delivered in a different format beginning March 23, 2020. Given these unprecedented circumstances, our academic leaders and the faculty have worked diligently to provide you with continuity of instruction delivered virtually through online venues and other forms of remote learning. This transition to a virtual environment was made to protect you and our community.

With regards to the Spring 2020 Semester, our goals have been to make certain that you move forward in your programs with academic continuity plans that meet the requirements of the specialty accreditation agencies that oversee our 26 professional degree programs. With regards to academic programs with clinical education components, the Schools are continually assessing the clinic-based and clinical education/site requirements, as well as safety measures during COVID-19. The Deans and Directors will continue to provide you with updates regarding your academic programs, including information regarding clinical experiences. Our Schools have followed the specific COVID-19 guidance of our accreditation agencies to ensure that programmatic outcomes and educational standards are maintained for our high quality programs.

During this public health crisis, the University has invested additional resources and has maintained its commitment to providing campus resources that have been delivered remotely, including faculty office hours, student affairs and academic support services including counseling, tutoring, academic advising, and professional/career guidance. Since the University continued classes for the remainder of the Spring 2020 Semester via online instruction and awarded academic credit, tuition will not be refunded.

Please know that we recognize the personal and professional challenges that you face. MCPHS University is committed to your success and we promise to do all we can to help you achieve your educational goals.

Sincerely yours,
Richard J. Lessard, Interim President
Dr. Caroline Zeind, Vice President for Academic Affairs/Provost
