Congratulations to everyone who will receive a degree at MCPHS Commencement 2017! Commencement will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA. For many of you, this culminates a long educational journey. Commencement is an important milestone in your life and we want to provide information to assist you in preparing for this joyful celebration.

Do I have to RSVP for Commencement?

All graduating students must complete the 2017 Commencement Form, whether you are planning to attend the ceremony or not. The deadline to complete the form is Friday, April 7, 2017. The form also asks for the pronunciation of your name so that it may be announced correctly. 

Are tickets required for my guests?

Tickets for guests are not required to attend. When you fill out the 2017 Commencement Form, you will be asked to indicate the number of expected guests in attendance. If any of your guests require special accommodations, please also be sure to include that on the form.

How do I get my cap and gown?

Once you fill out the 2017 Commencement Form, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the you, along with instructions on how to order a cap and gown. In order to pick-up an ordered cap and gown, you must have completed the Senior Exit Survey (this survey will be sent to all graduates prior to Commencement). Caps and Gowns will be available for pick-up the week leading up to Commencement.

What time does Commencement begin?

  • Procession of Graduates begins at 9:30 am
  • Gates for Guests open at 8:00 am
  • Students must arrive at check-in by 8:15 am

Where can I park?

Free parking is available at Gillette Stadium. Click here to view information on accessing the stadium's parking lots and on where to park your vehicle. Please note: Tailgating is not permitted.

What are the arrangements for guests with mobility needs?

Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis with a seating area for guests with mobility issues. There are designated areas at the stadium which are reserved for those with mobility issues.  Wheelchairs are allowed in Gillette Stadium; however, wheelchairs are not provided at the venue. In order to accommodate our guests who will be utilizing the designated areas, we do ask that only one additional guest be seated with our guests.

When should I arrive?

The parking lot gates will open for all graduates and guests at approximately 7:30 a.m. with the procession starting promptly at 9:30 a.m. Please be aware that all bags are subject to check at entry. We ask that graduating students arrive no later than 8:15 a.m.

How long is the ceremony?

The estimated program time is about two and a half hours long.

Can I take a video and/or photos at the event?

You may use your own camera and/or video recorder in the venue, and we encourage you to share your pictures and videos on social media using #MCPHS17. There is a University photographer who will capture a photo of your graduate with the President. The complimentary photo will be mailed to the graduate shortly after the event. Each graduate will walk across the stage and their image will appear on the jumbo screen. For safety reasons, guests are not permitted on the field.

Are refreshments available?

Concession areas will be open and accept cash and credit card payment.

Is this an indoor event?

No, the event is outdoors regardless of weather conditions. In the event of rain, small umbrellas are allowed.

My family and friends are coming in from out of town. What hotel accommodations are available to them?

There are a number of hotels located in and around the Foxborough area, as well as in the Boston area. For your convenience, MCPHS University has negotiated special rates at select hotels. Rooms are available for individual booking on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be aware that hotels may have different cut-off dates for reserving rooms. I have family traveling from overseas. Can MCPHS University provide a letter for them for visa purposes?

MCPHS University can assist with providing documentation for visa purposes for overseas guests. To receive assistance, please fill out  the Visitation Request Form. For further questions regarding documentation, please contact Meagan.hart@mcphs.edu.
