The wide variety of activities and experiences available to those living in southern New Hampshire is what makes this city unique. Explore nature trails, study at a family-owned coffee shop, go to a show, or easily access some of the most beautiful landscapes in New England. This city feels like a neighborhood, with all the benefits of a major urban center.

Food

Find all types of New England fare, from comfort food, to fresh-caught seafood, to Italian in Manchester. The Foundry is the state's largest farm-to-table certified restaurant, and the Puritan Backroom claims to invented the chicken tender. The Bridge Café and 900 Degrees are minutes from campus and are student favorites for a snack or meal.

Museums

Manchester was once the industrial capital of a young America. Now, that legacy is preserved in museums across the city. The Millyard Museum showcases the city's history, and the New Hampshire Institute of Politics is a political hub that is a popular destination for presidential candidates. The Currier Museum of Arts celebrates the city's creative roots and offers complimentary admission to MCPHS students.

Culture

Live entertainment is easy to find, with venues of all sizes attracting a variety of performers. The Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) Arena hosts several big-name concerts a year, as well as attractions like Cirque du Soleil. If theater is more your speed. the Palace Theater offers quite the experience. It first opened in 1915 and hosts acts from touring shows to NH's own Recycled Percussion.

Sports

It's still easy to see the Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, or Red Sox play in person since several major highways running through Manchester. For a closer-to-home sporting experience, check out the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Delta Dental Stadium. Affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays, the team highlights up-and-coming baseball players. Plus, a day at the ballpark is always a good time.

Outdoor Spaces

Parks and green spaces aren't hard to come by in Manchester, and many of them have space for organized sports and activities. Beyond city limits, you'll find ski resorts, lakes, and beaches just a short drive away. If you're up for a bigger adventure, head north to visit the White Mountains, home to some of the best hiking on the East Coast. And every fall, New Hampshire shows off with its world-famous foliage.
