Safety and Security
We all want to feel safe in the environment where we choose to live and learn, and MCPHS takes campus safety and security very seriously. The MCPHS Public Safety department makes it their mission to enhance the quality of life for the entire MCPHS community by maintaining a secure and open environment where the safety of all is balanced with the rights of individuals. The department strives to accomplish its mission while adhering to its core values of integrity, professionalism, and service. The success of this mission depends upon an effective and mutually respectful working relationship between Public Safety personnel and the diverse elements of the MCPHS community, including students, staff, faculty, and visitors.
Although reported crime at MCPHS is low, it is important for students, faculty, staff, and visitors to remember that the university is located in an urban setting and shares many of the safety issues that exist in any city. Preserving the safety and security of the university is the combined responsibility of the entire community. We ask that our partners in the community assume their individual and collective responsibilities to make MCPHS a place free of crime, fear, and disorder, and to provide a civil and open environment that fosters learning and mutual respect.
Crime Statistics
MCPHS prides itself on being a very safe campus. In accordance with the Student Right to Know and Campus Security Act, crime statistics for the last three years are posted. Anyone, including employees and prospective students, may also request a printed copy of this report by contacting The Public Safety Office at 617.732.2900.
MCPHS Annual Fire Safety Report
The Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) (PL 110-315) became law in August 2008 requiring all institutions of higher education that provide residential housing facilities for students to develop an annual fire safety report. Contents of this report reflect the requirements outlined in HEOA, which are included in the MCPHS campus fire safety program.
