Save the Date: Family Weekend 2018

October 19 — October 21, 2018

Join us for this annual fall tradition which gives students, their families and guests an opportunity to meet the MCPHS University community. Events will take place both on and off campus. We look forward to meeting you and your family!

Students can register for Family Weekend here. Registration will run through Friday, October 12, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. or until tickets sell out.

While we do not offer parking on campus for Family Weekend, there are a number of local facilities in the area. Visit our Location & Maps page for parking information and driving directions to our campus. Please note that we are unable to validate parking at any area garages. 

Our campus is highly accessible via public transportation. The closest "T" stop to campus is the Longwood Medical Area stop on the Green "E" Heath Street Line. We are also a walkable distance from the Ruggles stop on the Orange Line.

To make staying close to campus easier for families attending Orientation, we have arranged for special room rates at local hotels. Hotel rooms are available Friday, October 19, 2018 and Saturday, October 21, 2018 on a first-come-first-serve basis. Each hotel has its own deadline for reserving rooms.

Reservations for the Inn at Longwood Medical may be made by calling 800.468.2378 or 617.731.4700 or online. Use hotel code MCPH1019. The deadline for special rate reservations is September 21, 2018.

Please note: Hotel room rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes in effect at time of check-in.

When you arrive on campus you will be provided with registration materials, tickets and a Family Weekend packet, which will include helpful maps of the campus and Boston area, as well as the latest information about activities happening throughout the weekend.

Please note check-in will only be available at the following times and locations:

Friday, October 19th: 12:00 p.m.- 4:30.p.m. in the Center for Campus Life
Friday, October 19th: 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at 179 Longwood Ave Entrance
Saturday, October 20th: 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. in the Griffin Lobby

Is there an age limit to enter Family Weekend events?

The following Family Weekend events have an age requirement:

  • Boston Duck Tour: Children under three are permitted but participants must provide their own child seat. Visit the official website for more information.

How do I arrange for disability-related accommodations?

Please indicate any disability-related accommodations you require when you register or contact the Center for Campus Life at 617.732.2086 or email kristen.dvorsky@mcphs.edu.

Are MCPHS students required to purchase tickets for Family Weekend events?

Yes, please include your student when registering for Family Weekend events. 

Is there a limit on how many tickets I can purchase?

You are limited to purchasing five tickets per event, including your MCPHS student. If there are more than five members in your party, special accommodations are available by contacting the Center for Campus Life at 617.732.2086 or email kristen.dvorsky@mcphs.edu.

When will I receive my Family Weekend event tickets?

You will receive your event tickets upon check-in on the first day of Family Weekend. Tickets will not be mailed to families.

Do I have to bring my printed EventBrite ticket to the event?

You do not need to print out your EventBrite tickets. You will receive your event tickets upon check-in on the first day of Family Weekend.

How can I purchase discounted tickets for Boston attractions and museums?

Tickets to the following Boston attractions and museums will be sold on-campus in the Cardinal Booth during Family Weekend: New England Aquarium, Regal Cinemas, and AMC Theatres. A maximum of five tickets total per family are available at $10 per ticket.

The Cardinal Booth will be open at the following times:
Friday, October 19: 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 20: 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

The deadline to request a refund is Friday, October 12, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. To request a refund email Kristen.dvorsky@mcphs.edu. After this period all sales are final.

There are no exchanges. Your ticket cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or destroyed, and is valid only for the event and seat for which it is issued. Your ticket is not redeemable for cash.

Will there be transportation provided to off-campus events?

Transportation will not be provided to off campus or evening activities. Directions to events will be provided to you upon check-in.
