Family Weekend 2017

Date: October 13-October 15, 2017

Join us for this annual fall tradition which gives students, their families and guests an opportunity to meet the MCPHS University community. Events will take place both on and off campus. We look forward to meeting you and your family!

Space is limited so be sure to register as early as possible. Certain events require payment at time of registration.

While we do not offer parking on campus for Family Weekend, there are a number of local facilities in the area. Visit our Location & Maps page for parking information and driving directions to our campus. Please note that we are unable to validate parking at any area garages. 

Our campus is highly accessible via public transportation. The closest "T" stop to campus is the Longwood Medical Area stop on the Green "E" Heath Street Line. We are also a walkable distance from the Ruggles stop on the Orange Line.

To make staying close to campus easier for families attending Orientation, we have arranged for special room rates at local hotels. Hotel rooms are available Friday, October 13, 2017 and Saturday, October 14, 2017 on a first-come-first-serve basis. The Deadline to book rooms at the special rate is September 13, 2017.

Please note: Hotel room rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes in effect at time of check-in.

When you arrive on campus please use the 179 Longwood Avenue entrance. You will be provided with registration materials, tickets and a Family Weekend packet, which will include helpful maps of the campus and Boston area, as well as the latest information about activities happening throughout the weekend.

Please note check-in will only be available at the following times:

Friday, October 13: 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 14: 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

Event Information

Is there an age limit to enter Family Weekend events?

The following Family Weekend events have an age requirement:

  • Boston Duck Tour: Children under three are permitted but participants must provide their own child seat. Visit the official website for more information.
  • Blue Man Group Show: Recommended for ages eight and up. Children under 5 are not allowed inside the Charles Playhouse.

How do I arrange for disability-related accommodations?

Ticket Information

Are MCPHS students required to purchase register for Family Weekend events?

Yes, in addition to family and guests, MCPHS students must register for Family Weekend events.

Is there a limit on how many tickets I can purchase?

You are limited to purchasing five tickets per event, including your MCPHS student. If there are more than five members in your party, special accommodations are available by contacting the Center for Campus Life at 617.732.2086 or email kristen.dvorsky@mcphs.edu.

When will I receive my Family Weekend event tickets?

You will receive your event tickets upon check-in on the first day of Family Weekend. Tickets will not be mailed to families.

Do I have to bring my printed EventBrite ticket to the event?

You do not need to print out your EventBrite tickets. You will receive your event tickets upon check-in on the first day of Family Weekend.

How can I purchase discounted tickets for Boston attractions and museums?

Tickets to the following Boston attractions and museums will be sold on-campus in the Cardinal Booth during Family Weekend: New England Aquarium, Regal Cinemas, and AMC Theatres. A maximum of four tickets total per family are available at $5 per ticket.

The Cardinal Booth will be open at the following times:
Friday, October 13: 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 14: 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.


Cancellation and Refund Policy

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

The deadline to request a refund is Friday, September 29, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. To request a refund email Kristen.dvorsky@mcphs.edu. After this period all sales are final.

There are no exchanges. Your ticket cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or destroyed, and is valid only for the event and seat for which it is issued. Your ticket is not redeemable for cash.

Transportation will not be provided to off campus or evening activities. Directions to events will be provided to you upon check-in.
