Important Information and Next Steps

If you have questions about financing your education or the aid application process, please contact Kristen Desrochers in the Student Financial Services Office at kristen.desrochers@mcphs.edu or 603.314.1729.

If you have not already done so, complete the 2016-2017 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), online to be considered for aid for the Spring 2017 and Summer 2017. Students may also complete the 2017-2018 FAFSA at the same site any time to be considered for aid for the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters.

There are no residence halls on the Manchester campus, however, Student Services has several resources for students interested in off-campus housing including a listing of off-campus housing options. If you have questions about local Manchester housing options please contact Pat Brousseau in Student Services at patricia.brousseau@mcphs.edu or 603.314.1783.

Massachusetts state law and MCPHS University policy requires that all Boston, Worcester, and Manchester students have health insurance coverage. A student health insurance charge will be applied to your student account for the Spring 2017 semester. This charge is for coverage that runs January 1, 2017 through August 31, 2017. If you have comparable coverage through another insurance carrier and do not wish to enroll in the Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance administered by University Health Plans, you must complete the online health insurance waiver prior to the waiver deadline. The health insurance waiver form will be available online once Spring 2017 bills are released in late October/ early November.

After you have successfully completed the waiver process you will receive a confirmation email from University Health Plans. Please retain this confirmation for your records. Failure to submit the online waiver by the due date will result in automatic enrollment in the insurance program for all Boston, Worcester and Manchester students.

All international students must enroll in the plan with the exception of:

1. Those international students whose sponsoring institutions have a signed agreement with MCPHS University that complies with the University’s health insurance waiver requirements.

2. International students with a plan which provides coverage within the United States, within a resonable distance from campus, AND the policy provides comparable coverage to the University's student health insurance plan.

International students who do not fall under conditions 1 or 2 above MUST purchase the University’s student health insurance plan and therefore are not eligible for a waiver.

If you wish to enroll in the student health insurance plan, please confirm that your local mailing information is accurate on WebAdvisor. Health insurance cards will be mailed in February to your local address on file. If you have questions about the waiver process or need your policy information prior to receiving your card, you may contact University Health Plans at 1.800.437.6448 extension 17. MCPHS University does not have your policy information.

To ensure your own health and safety, as well as the health and safety of those around you, your required immunizations and titers must be completed prior to your first academic term at MCPHS University. MCPHS University has partnered with CastleBranch, a confidential health information service, to track your immunization records and compliance. The spring 2017 immunization submission deadline is December 15, 2016.

By now you should have received immunization requirement information; this information was sent via email to your personal email account as found on your application for admission. If you did not receive this information, please contact Pat Ramsay, Director of Student Compliance at patricia.ramsay@mcphs.edu or 617.735.1105.

If you have questions regarding your immunization requirements, requirement status, rejections, or renewals, please contact the CastleBranch Service Desk at studentservices@castlebranch.com or 1.888.914.7279. Student support representatives are available Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. EST. Helpful information is also available on our Immunization Frequently Asked Questions document.

The easiest way to become compliant with MCPHS University and state immunization requirements is to complete your immunizations through your primary care provider before you arrive at school for the beginning of the semester. So, schedule your appointment with your PCP today!
