Why pursue a graduate degree in health sciences at MCPHS?

  • Choose your path. The two-year master’s program prepares students to promote excellence in teaching and learning, translate theory and novel strategies to the learning environment, expand the evidence base in health professions education, and link education, research, and practice in transforming healthcare systems. The 54-credit doctoral program prepares healthcare clinicians, educators, and leaders as scholar-practitioners with an interprofessional curriculum that is progressive and contemporary. It includes modules addressing healthcare trends and challenges, population health, and quality improvement.
  • Become a leader. An advanced degree in health sciences sets graduates apart by providing them with the tools for leadership roles in healthcare departments and/or health professions organizations. Students develop the skills and expertise to lead in health policy, health communication, higher education, and global health.
  • Advance your career. Master’s graduates can serve as faculty, department chairs, deans, curriculum coordinators, and clinical training directors in academic institutions or as staff development coordinators, training directors, and continuing education professionals in healthcare organizations. Doctoral graduates may pursue educational opportunities such as teaching in higher education or assuming leadership in healthcare delivery organizations. You can further specialize in one of three concentrations: Health Systems Administration, Educational Leadership, or Global Health.
