The online Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy (BSRT) at MCPHS is a degree-advancement program designed for registered respiratory therapists who hold an associate degree to earn a bachelor's degree.
As the field continues to grow, the educational foundation of a bachelor’s degree makes respiratory therapists more competitive. The American Association for Respiratory Care has issued a goal aiming for 80% of respiratory therapists (RTs) to either have, or be working toward, a BSRT degree. Many career ladders require at least a bachelor’s degree in order to advance. A bachelor’s degree has already become the norm for managers and educators in the nation.
The program provides an interdisciplinary curriculum that incorporates research, critical analysis, and evidence-based approaches to equip respiratory therapists with analytical, research, and collaborative skills to apply for leadership positions and give patients the highest quality of respiratory care.
