Chief Advancement Officer Sue Gorman reflects on meaningful milestones and connections across our MCPHS community.

As students return to campus for the semester, we’re just as excited to welcome back our alumni for a fall filled with milestones and celebrations.

In early September, we’ll be marking 25 years of MCPHS in Worcester. The campus’s growth in the Heart of the Commonwealth has been phenomenal: There are now more than 2,000 students pursuing degrees across a campus that unfolds seamlessly across downtown. Worcester has proven to be the perfect place for MCPHS to spread its wings, and our local partners and neighbors there continue to be a huge support. You can read more about the Worcester evolution here.

This fall also marks 50 years of impact for the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA), which has been educating practitioners and transforming healthcare since its founding in 1975. Many of our NESA alumni were there for the early days in Watertown and Newton alongside founder Dr. James Tin Yau So, while others have joined since the MCPHS merger. They’ll all come together as one community this November to honor this milestone. The timing is opportune, as a new treatment center is opening in Boston this fall. The future is bright for NESA!

Fifty years is also a highlight for our MCPHS alumni, who become Golden Graduates once they’re 50 years or more from graduation. This October, we’ll proudly usher the Class of 1975 into the Golden Graduates ranks at their annual Reunion. I look forward to this celebration every year, as it always delivers nostalgia, camaraderie, and wonderful new memories.

What makes my job so meaningful is seeing, time and again, how alumni nurture their lifelong connections to MCPHS. No matter which campus you called home, or when you earned your degree, MCPHS is always a part of you.

I hope you’ll stop by soon, on campus or at an upcoming event. Please reach out to us at alumni@mcphs.edu or call me at 774.243.3488 with your questions and suggestions on how we can best serve you. It’s always a joy to hear from you!
