An Immersive Program for a Comprehensive Education in Eye Care

In this full-time, four-year program on the Worcester campus, provide eye care and promote vision health to a diverse patient community of all ages. Learn from expert professors and use cutting-edge instructional technologies in the classroom. You’ll also work in the MCPHS Eye and Vision Center and participate in other clinical experiences, gaining extensive experience with diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye conditions by the time you graduate.

How a Routine Eye Exam Helped Lilly Phan See Her Future

Starting from the fall of your second year, you’ll have the chance to work directly with patients. "Here at MCPHS we get clinical experience earlier than other programs and learn a lot from working with a diverse patient population," said Lilly Phan, DO ‘25.

Optometry Students Bring Care to Rural Tennessee Families

The Student Volunteer Optometric Services club partnered with a nonprofit organization and organized a pop-up clinic in rural Cookeville, TN, giving full-service eye exams to 250 patients over one weekend.

Dual Degree Option

Students accepted into the Doctor of Optometry (OD) program at MCPHS are eligible to apply to the online Master of Public Health in the spring of their first year of the OD program.

Premedical Health Studies—Optometry Pathway

This 3+4 pathway allows you to earn both a Bachelor of Science in Premedical Health Studies (BS) and a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from MCPHS in seven years. Learn more.
