The Hybrid Online PharmD Pathway combines online coursework, in-person immersions on our Manchester, NH campus, and in-person experiential learning to train pharmacists who provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

The Online PharmD is an accelerated program offering a unique pathway to enter the distinguished pharmacy profession and shape the future of healthcare. Complete the program in less than three years—primarily through asynchronous online instruction with some synchronous virtual sessions—while receiving the same trusted curriculum as our campus-based students. During academic immersions in Manchester, NH, you’ll reinforce application of your knowledge, strengthen connections with faculty and peers, and develop advanced pharmacy practice skills. This program will prepare you for a variety of pharmacy careers in hospital, community, industry, and academia.

On-Campus Experiences

This program includes three required in-person experiences on our Manchester, NH campus: an orientation and two academic immersions. Students are also invited to participate in graduation activities. These are essential experiences to network with faculty and peers, integrate with the MCPHS Community, and ensure graduates are practice ready.

Flexible, Online Learning

Maximizing flexibility, most of the didactic curriculum will be delivered asynchronously, supplemented by synchronous sessions designed to support application-based activities, enhance interaction with peers and faculty, and promote effective interprofessional teamwork.

An Experiential, Hands-On Education

One-third of the curriculum is dedicated to experiential learning. Students are expected to participate in experiential rotations, in-person at various pharmacy practice sites.

The University plans to begin offering this program in the Fall of 2026, pending Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) approval. If the program is not approved, students will have the option to be considered for enrollment for a future term or may choose to enroll in the in-person Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)—Accelerated program.

The School of Pharmacy – Worcester/Manchester (SOP-W/M) uses Curricular Outcomes and Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) to provide an education that inspires lifelong learning, promotes interprofessional collaboration, and develops caring pharmacists who positively impact the health of the communities they serve. Through the SOP-W/M, students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to achieve competencies aligned with EPAs, ensuring they are well-prepared for professional practice.

The accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy Program utilizes ExamSoft/Examplify (electronic testing software) in all didactic courses for assessments. Students are required to use a laptop that meets the minimum specifications to successfully participate in assessments. Tablets, iPads, and Chromebooks cannot be used to complete assessments.

Campus-based pathway and hybrid online pathway students are required to have a second device with a camera, speaker, and microphone. Students will be required to purchase a privacy screen that fits on their laptop for on campus assessments.

At this time, Examplify can only be used with iOS or Windows operating systems. Chromebook, Android, and Linux operating systems do not support Examplify.

In conjunction with the applicable academic and accreditation standards, the faculty in each of the programs at MCPHS has established certain abilities and characteristics defined as technical standards. Candidates for enrollment in programs at MCPHS must meet these technical standards, which may include but are not limited to observation, communication, sensory and motor coordination and function, intellectual, conceptual, integrative and quantitative abilities, and behavioral and social attributes. These standards may be met with or without reasonable accommodations.
