Off-Campus Access

Library

You do your homework, research, and prep work in many different places – at home, at work, and on the go. Use the Library’s resources and get help wherever you are.

Use Library Resources

Your MCPHS username and password give you access to paid subscription resources through the Library. Use the Library’s links to those resources. When prompted to sign in, use your MCPHS username and password.

MCPHS Smart Search

When you are off campus, the message “Welcome Guest. MCPHS Member? Log in for full access” appears before the header on devices with large screens or before the footer on devices with small screens. While you can search without signing in, you will only be able to access a small portion of the Library’s content. For full access, click “MCPHS Member” and log in with your MCPHS username and password. Once you log in, you will be able to see all of the search results (no placeholders!) and the links to full text will work for you.

Online Students

Explore the Library orientation for online students to learn how the Library supports online students. Online students enjoy similar resources and services as on-campus students. While online students can request an article, an MCPHS thesis, an MCPHS dissertation, or a single chapter from a book through interlibrary loan, whole books can only be sent to campus locations. Read the full interlibrary loan policy for details.

Geographic Limitations

Some of the Library’s resources are only available to people who are in Massachusetts. We get those resources through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners / Massachusetts Library System and rely on their authentication system. Both you and your computer will need to appear to be coming from Massachusetts to use those resources. Look for the “Currently available only to people located in Massachusetts” label.

If you are outside the U.S., you may encounter some other access limitations. Where possible, MCPHS resources are made available internationally. A limited number of resources are licensed only for use within the U.S. Some content may be blocked by the country you are in because U.S. rules data privacy protection rules are not as strict as that countries’ rules.
