Career Development CenterResidency programs and fellowship programs are post-graduate training programs for physicians and other health professionals. They help prepare students to become specialists in a particular area of their chosen field.
Nursing Residency
Nursing residency programs help recent nursing graduates transition from school to the workplace. They are usually offered in hospitals and other medical practices. The application process for nursing residency programs is competitive. Nursing students should plan to apply about six months before graduation.
Occupational Therapy Fellowship Program
Open to new graduates, early-career and experienced occupational therapists, the AOTA Fellowship Program offers diverse post-graduate opportunities in top-tier healthcare organizations, including children's hospitals, VA medical centers, and private clinics many of which are regionally and nationally ranked on the US News lists for Best Hospital Honor Roll and Best Children’s Hospital Honor Roll. Gain specialized training, mentorship, and research opportunities not available in many entry-level positions.

Optometry Residency

Pharmacy Residency
Pharmacy residencies take place in a variety of settings, including hospitals, community pharmacies, clinics, associations, and academia. APhA partners with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) to accredit postgraduate year one (PGY-1) community-based pharmacy residency programs (CPRPs).

APhA Executive Postgraduate Training Program
The APhA Executive Postgraduate Training Program offers seven residency positions and one fellowship position. The program is designed to challenge motivated individuals who have ambitions to contribute towards advancement of the pharmacy profession.

Pharmacy Fellowships can take place in an academia or within a pharmaceutical company. The latter prepares you for a career in industry and gives you the experience of working in various different departments for the purpose gaining knowledge in drug research and development. Academic fellowship focus primarily on research in a specific area of study in an academic setting.
Physical Therapy Residency
A residency program is a post-professional planned learning experience comprised of a curriculum encompassing the essential knowledge, skills, and responsibilities of an advanced physical therapist within a defined area of practice. When board certification exists through the American Board of Physical Therapist Specialties for that specialty, the residency program prepares the physical therapist with the requisite knowledge and skill set needed to pass the certification examination following graduation. A fellowship program is a post-professional planned learning experience comprised of a curriculum encompassing the essential knowledge, skills, and responsibilities of an advanced physical therapist within a defined area of subspecialty practice. A clinical fellowship candidate has either completed a residency program in a related specialty area or is an American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties board-certified specialist in a related area of specialty. ABPTRFE currently accredits clinical physical therapist fellowship programs in the following areas:

Physician Assistant Studies Residency/Postgraduate Program
Physician Assistant residency program where a newly graduated Physician Assistant can further specialize in a specific medical field by completing additional clinical rotations and focused training in that area, allowing them to gain deeper expertise in a chosen specialty like surgery, pediatrics, or emergency medicine; often done through a hospital or medical center affiliated with a PA program.
