About

Karen Alcorn has been a Reference and Instruction Librarian at MCPHS Worcester since 2011. She spent the first 20 years of her career as a chemical technologist, where she analyzed pharmaceutical products in Western New York. Karen graduated with her MLS from the University at Buffalo in 2006 and has been a member of the Medical Library Association (MLA) and the Association of Vision Science Librarians (AVSL) since 2011. Her most recent manuscript, "AACN Essentials: Librarians as Partners in Successful Implementation," was published in the Journal of Professional Nursing in 2022.
